Jewish American Heritage Month is held yearly in May to bring attention to and celebrate the history of the Jewish people in America. As a cultural and ethnic American Jew, here are eighteen recommended reads for teens (and adults!). The number 18 in Judaism, stands for “life” and good luck, because the Hebrew letters that spell chai, meaning “living”, add up to 18.
